In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and being deemed “essential business” by the governor of the state of Florida, we want to assure you, our loyal customers, that Pro Movers Miami has, and always will, put the safety of our team and that of our customers first and foremost. We are committed to following all best practices and guidelines for sanitation and for cleanliness, and are taking all of the necessary precautions as we proceed to service your move. To that end, extensive measures are being taken wherever possible to combat the spread of this virus, while still being safe and efficient as we continue to provide you with the first-class, five star moving experience that you have come to expect of us. Here are some of the proactive measures we’ve implemented and will continue to implement:

  • All estimates are being provided over the phone, virtually, on-line or via email until further notice.
  • Pre-move wellness checks for both our customers and our crew members, where all will be asked to advise us if you feel ill or suspect exposure to the virus. For our movers it would be mandatory that they stay home, and for our customers, moving services can be rescheduled, postponed or cancelled to mitigate risk, should that be necessary.
  • Our crews are equipped with gloves, disinfectant sprays/wipes and hand sanitizer for your protection and theirs.
  • We have put into effect social distancing measures, and although we have always valued the professionalism and respect that comes along with a good introductory handshake and a departing thank you, we ask for your understanding that for the safety and well-being of everyone, there’ll be no handshake or touching of any kind.
  • Upon arrival, our crew will still introduce themselves, walk through the home with appropriate social distance, begin to protect the home with all safeguards like floor runners, and door jams (as they always do), but in addition we ask you now (with all due respect), to please give them the appropriate space they need to safely and efficiently service your move and allow them space to do their job.
  • When available and appropriate, open doorways and windows to increase air circulation and ventilation.
  • We are also taking measures to sanitize the cabs and boxes of our trucks, as well as all blankets, pads, tools and equipment after each and every move to reduce any risk of cross-contamination.
  • It is our hope and our expectation that you will take the same precautionary measures that we are taking, and that will also sanitize and wipe down any and all exposed surfaces and furniture prior to our arrival. Anything that you can do to help keep our working conditions safe and sanitary for our men, is equally appreciated.
  • Owners / office staff will be working around the clock from home with complete access for our team and our customers via phone, email and text.

Again, thank you for choosing Pro Movers Miami, it is our sincere pleasure to serve you. Our Promise to you, and no matter what circumstances, is to continue to deliver the 5 stars moving service that our customers depend on. Should you need to reach us directly, please feel free, Text is always the quickest, and we are literally her for you 24/7.

Thank you, be well and stay healthy!

How to move long distance with children

Moving with kids is never easy, especially if you’re moving far away. With a move, there are always too many things to take care of. Getting around to finishing them is much harder when you have to look after your kids. Luckily, our guide is here to help you move long-distance with children so make sure to keep reading it!

Plan your long distance move with children carefully

The first to every move, be it local or long distance, is planning! To ensure both you and your kids have an easy relocation, start planning early! However, before you start preparing your children for the move, you’ll want to get informed about the moving process yourself. The key is to get as much information as possible before talking to your kids. This will ensure you know what to say and you’ll sound more confident, which will help your kids accept the move more easily. Since we’re focusing on how to move long distance with children, we’ll only go through the basics of moving preparation. If you want an in-depth guide on how to properly prepare for the relocation, you can visit our blog and learn how to plan your interstate move from Florida.

Things you should know before talking to your kids:

  • Where you’d move to
  • Approximately when you’d move there
  • Where you’d live (whether it’s an apartment, a house or something else)
  • How long it will take to get there
  • How long the moving process will last

Prepare your family for the change

Once you’ve got your bearings, it’s time to get your family ready for the move. Have a sit-down with your kids and explain to them what’s happening. Tell of the upcoming change and how it will affect your lives. While talking, answer their questions as well as you can and ensure they understand that everything is fine! Reassuring your little ones in whatever way you can is crucial for having a successful long distance move with children. Apart from the talk, it’s a good idea to look for schools in advance. You can use online tools from the National Center Education Statistics to search for public schools in the district you’re moving to!

Ask your children to help you with the move

Move long distance with kids without issues by keeping your little ones occupied during the relocation! Giving your kids small moving tasks they can accomplish is a good way to keep them involved in the move and out of the way on moving day! However, make sure those tasks aren’t too difficult and time-consuming. Don’t work your children too hard on moving day as it may have a negative effect. If you think this particular tactic might not work in your home, dedicate your time to your kids and rely on the help of Coconut Grove movers to take care of the relocation.

Things to do on moving day with children

There are a lot of ways to make your kids comfortable on moving day and before it. Most of them depend on how old your children are, and some of them are especially useful for cross country moves. So, if you’re moving from Florida to California, these tips might come in handy.

Move long distance with young children

When relocation with kids, you’re bound to run into some problems. Either you’ll run out of packing materials, or your child will be thirsty, tired or both. To ensure the easiest transition possible, you’ll want to:

  • make your move an adventure – create fun activities you can during the move.
  • drop by checkpoints – You don’t have to do to your destination in a straight line! Move long distance with children by visiting some interesting places along the way!
  • stock up on snacks! – bring enough food and drinks to make sure no one gets thirsty.
  • pack redundancies –  Bringing additional clothes, blankets, and even footwear is a good idea when moving far away! You never know when the weather might change and you’ll want your kids to be warm and comfortable.
  • get the best supplies you can – use durable and reliable moving boxes Miami to ensure the safety of your items.
  • try to have a fun trip! – even with the best preparation, something might still go wrong. Look on the bright side and keep both your and your children’s spirits high!

Moving with teens

The move might affect your teen the most in your household. So, you’ll need to approach the situation with great care! First off, don’t give them too many tasks as it may prove counterproductive. However, also don’t let them slack off and do nothing. It’s a precarious edge you’ll need to walk in order to make the move as easy as possible.

Teens are notoriously hard to reach and work with.

Apart from his, you’ll want to give them a chance to say goodbye to their friends. Let your kids spend some more time with their friends. Also where possible, throw a moving away party or ask some of your kids’ friends to help with the move. You can make the whole thing a pleasant adventure. If you’re planning to move long distance with children, they might never get a chance to see their friends again, so make sure you’re understanding and patient.

Move long distance with children with the help of pros!

No matter how organized you are, the easiest way to relocate far away with your family is to hire professional movers. With so many things to take care of and so many family members to look after, you’ll have your hands full! Not to mention that you might be moving in circumstances that are less than ideal.
