In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and being deemed “essential business” by the governor of the state of Florida, we want to assure you, our loyal customers, that Pro Movers Miami has, and always will, put the safety of our team and that of our customers first and foremost. We are committed to following all best practices and guidelines for sanitation and for cleanliness, and are taking all of the necessary precautions as we proceed to service your move. To that end, extensive measures are being taken wherever possible to combat the spread of this virus, while still being safe and efficient as we continue to provide you with the first-class, five star moving experience that you have come to expect of us. Here are some of the proactive measures we’ve implemented and will continue to implement:

  • All estimates are being provided over the phone, virtually, on-line or via email until further notice.
  • Pre-move wellness checks for both our customers and our crew members, where all will be asked to advise us if you feel ill or suspect exposure to the virus. For our movers it would be mandatory that they stay home, and for our customers, moving services can be rescheduled, postponed or cancelled to mitigate risk, should that be necessary.
  • Our crews are equipped with gloves, disinfectant sprays/wipes and hand sanitizer for your protection and theirs.
  • We have put into effect social distancing measures, and although we have always valued the professionalism and respect that comes along with a good introductory handshake and a departing thank you, we ask for your understanding that for the safety and well-being of everyone, there’ll be no handshake or touching of any kind.
  • Upon arrival, our crew will still introduce themselves, walk through the home with appropriate social distance, begin to protect the home with all safeguards like floor runners, and door jams (as they always do), but in addition we ask you now (with all due respect), to please give them the appropriate space they need to safely and efficiently service your move and allow them space to do their job.
  • When available and appropriate, open doorways and windows to increase air circulation and ventilation.
  • We are also taking measures to sanitize the cabs and boxes of our trucks, as well as all blankets, pads, tools and equipment after each and every move to reduce any risk of cross-contamination.
  • It is our hope and our expectation that you will take the same precautionary measures that we are taking, and that will also sanitize and wipe down any and all exposed surfaces and furniture prior to our arrival. Anything that you can do to help keep our working conditions safe and sanitary for our men, is equally appreciated.
  • Owners / office staff will be working around the clock from home with complete access for our team and our customers via phone, email and text.

Again, thank you for choosing Pro Movers Miami, it is our sincere pleasure to serve you. How to maximize space in your storage unit?

However big your home is, there will certainly come a time when you simply cannot fit everything in it. This is usually the time when you need to rent a storage unit. However, you are on a budget, and cannot get a big enough storage for all of your items. What should you do? You should read this article and learn everything there is to know about how to maximize space in your storage unit! By following this guide, you will learn space efficiency, and your home will never have clutter again! Let us begin!

Make a photo catalog

One of the most important things to do before moving everything to your new storage unit is to create an inventory. You can do so by writing every item down on a list. However, a more visual and fun way to do this is to make a photo catalog! This way you will never lose track of all the things you have in your storage.

Warehouses are a perfect example of good organization.

You will also know the state of each item before you had put it in storage. You can develop photos, but an easier way to keep track is to just upload it on a cloud. If you are not sure how cloud storage works, just make a blog on Blogger, and upload your photos there.

Be efficient with your boxes

One of the key parts in moving your belongings to another location is to be efficient. The best way to be efficient is to get boxes. And not just boxes, but boxes of different sizes. This allows you to “play Tetris” and organize the boxes in such a way to use as much space as possible. This will help you greatly in your effort to maximize space in your storage unit. Too many people get boxes of the same dimensions and after dividing the items by type, many boxes are left with much-unoccupied space. By getting different sized boxes this is not going to happen.

Also, some people get bags instead of boxes. This is highly inefficient as the boxes are much more sturdy and they can be stacked one on top of another without having to worry about breaking anything. It will also make your storage more accessible, clean, and organized.

Create an aisle

Creating an aisle will make everything more accessible and well organized. You can do this by creating a floor plan of the storage unit and then start placing your belongings in it. If you have made a good inventory and a photo catalog, the floor plan will make everything easier to get. You should also divide the items into categories just for easier access. Also, leave enough space so you can take out the boxes you want without causing any other boxes to fall down. If you live in Miami, Florida, consider renting the best storage Miami can offer. Plenty of space to create perfect organization!

Creating an aisle can do wonders for your storage unit!

Using vacuum bags to protect clothing

This is one of the best ways to protect your clothing and maximize space in your storage unit. Just take one type of clothing, fold it, and then place it inside a vacuum bag. In addition to this, you can also roll your clothes. This is a proven method for efficient packing, and it applies to maximize space in your storage unit as well.

Place the biggest and heaviest items at the bottom

When you are stacking boxes, make sure to rate them by weight. The heaviest ones should always take the bottom spot, and then stack the lighter ones on top of them. This ensures that you do not do any damage to your items. Heavier objects also offer better base and balance, and it is less likely for your stack to collapse if you organize them like this.

Also, consider using up all the empty space you can find. This includes drawers, empty suitcases and more. Empty space is wasted space, so make sure to fill it up! This goes a long way when you want to maximize space in your storage unit!

Maximizing space in your storage unit but still not having enough space

If this happens, there is only one thing you can do. You need to get rid of these items. There are some ways you can do this, so choose which one fits you best.

  • Making a garage sale:

This is the best method to get rid of extra stuff. You will not have the need to put it in your already full storage, and you will even earn some money for it! The key to a successful garage sale is proper organization. When your garage is packed and a garage sale is organized, you will probably get rid of most of the items you do not need. Another important thing is to advertise it properly. Consider handing out flyers in your neighborhood, and making an event post on social media. You will be surprised by the turnout! Also, do not be afraid to barter. It is better to get rid of something and get some money for it, than having to keep it in your garage, collecting dust. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure! Keep this in mind!

This is definitely how your storage should NOT look like!
  • Selling it online:

There are some websites where you can sell your unwanted items. This is the option you should resort to only if you had not managed to sell it on your garage sale. Websites such as eBay offer services like this, and you will probably sell the item, whatever it is. The internet is a huge audience, and someone will probably be willing to buy it from you.

  • Donating the items:

If all else failed, consider donating the stuff to your friends or family. You can also “bribe” your friends with these items to help you with moving everything to the storage unit. However, with Pro Movers Miami you will not have to do this. They will be glad to help you with moving everything and even maximize space in your storage unit. If your friends and family do not want these items, you should donate them to charity. These people probably need it more than anyone else.

This is everything you need to know if you want to maximize space in your storage unit. Have fun organizing!
