Here are some of the proactive measures we’ve implemented and will continue to implement:

  • All estimates are being provided over the phone, virtually, on-line or via email until further notice.
  • Pre-move wellness checks for both our customers and our crew members, where all will be asked to advise us if you feel ill or suspect exposure to the virus. For our movers it would be mandatory that they stay home, and for our customers, moving services can be rescheduled, postponed or cancelled to mitigate risk, should that be necessary.
  • Our crews are equipped with gloves, disinfectant sprays/wipes and hand sanitizer for your protection and theirs.
  • We have put into effect social distancing measures, and although we have always valued the professionalism and respect that comes along with a good introductory handshake and a departing thank you, we ask for your understanding that for the safety and well-being of everyone, there’ll be no handshake or touching of any kind.
  • Upon arrival, our crew will still introduce themselves, walk through the home with appropriate social distance, begin to protect the home with all safeguards like floor runners, and door jams (as they always do), but in addition we ask you now (with all due respect), to please give them the appropriate space they need to safely and efficiently service your move and allow them space to do their job.
  • When available and appropriate, open doorways and windows to increase air circulation and ventilation.
  • We are also taking measures to sanitize the cabs and boxes of our trucks, as well as all blankets, pads, tools and equipment after each and every move to reduce any risk of cross-contamination.
  • It is our hope and our expectation that you will take the same precautionary measures that we are taking, and that will also sanitize and wipe down any and all exposed surfaces and furniture prior to our arrival. Anything that you can do to help keep our working conditions safe and sanitary for our men, is equally appreciated.
  • Owners / office staff will be working around the clock from home with complete access for our team and our customers via phone, email and text.

You’ll find a spacious suburb known as Homestead just about 35 miles southwest of Miami. It’s a little far from the downtown Miami core. However, there are many things you can do in Homestead. Some of these include the region’s most cherished landmarks. It’s located between the Florida Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean. The South Dade area was populated by homesteaders in 1898, and farming became a way of life. However, before you call a moving company Homestead FL, keep reading to find out what you should learn about Homestead before moving from Brickell.

There are a few things you need to learn about Homestead before moving from Brickell

Homestead provides visitors easy access to some of the Sunshine State’s most popular attractions such as Everglades National Park and the Florida Keys. It’s a popular destination for those who’d rather avoid the high prices, exclusivity, and round-the-clock party atmosphere for which Miami is known. Pro Movers Miami has made a list of things to learn about Homestead before moving from Brickell.

It is affordable, however, it might be far from your job

Homestead’ has a population of about 65,000. The median home value is $141,300. This is quite below the national median home value which is $184,700 and other Miami communities, such as Kendall, which is $312,800. If you work in Downtown Miami, the lower cost of housing comes with a long trip to and from work. In rush hour traffic, the drive takes anywhere between 1 and 1.5 hours. Even though public transportation is an option—there are buses in Homestead—it will probably make your commuting time longer.

Traffic

Public transit is lacking a bit in the Homestead area. Even though it’s not great, it’s not a problem as it is elsewhere. Transit is limited here. This means you will probably need to own a car to get from place to place. There is a higher propensity for traffic jams in the area since most people tend to need cars. You’ll probably end up in a traffic jam once a day. Traffic is usually made up of difficult signals, bad potholes, and rough parking. Don’t be shocked if you find out you might need an extra 15 or 20 minutes just to make sure that you get to your place.

Beaches are close

It’s possible to be a total beach bum in Homestead, simply because you’re next to the Atlantic ocean. Miami beaches are famous for having mellow ocean temperatures, and the climate makes this place an amazing venue for fun in the sun. If you’re a fan of living life by the beach, you will find Homestead to be the perfect place to live. Homestead has many benefits for people who want to have the best possible experience at the beach on a regular basis. Since the area is known for having calm weather all year long, you’ll be able to soak up all the sun that you want.

There is a lot of entertainment in Homestead

If there is one thing that Homestead has, it’s close proximity to a lot of different entertainment forms. You can go to the beach all year long if you want to as we mentioned earlier. However, that is only the tip of the iceberg. Homestead is a Miami suburb. This means that you’re literally just a quick drive away from the hottest clubs in America. Within Homestead’s city limits, moving companies Miami Dade recommend checking out the local video gaming arcade, multiple performing arts centers, as well as more exotic options like the Homestead Rodeo and a racing speedway. Because there are many different activities to try out here, you may notice an influx of tourists in the area every so often.

Farmland is close

Even though its days of being a small town are over, Homestead is still close to farmland. And the town keeps some of the charms of its rural past. The most recognized farm is probably Knaus Berry Farm. It began as a small roadside stand in 1956. Today, tourists go to the farm to enjoy a variety of jellies, baked goods, and bread. If you’d like to experience another type of farm, then you might want to visit Everglades Alligator Farm. Here you can watch the alligator show or take an airboat tour through the Everglades. The farm collects alligator eggs and sells them to other farms in Florida. Also, it is one of the few farms in the world that doesn’t process the animals it protects.

You can satisfy your need for speed in Homestead

Florida’s always been a big racing state. The Homestead-Miami Speedway has a long history of hosting NASCAR and Indy races that bring fans from all over the state and nation. In the racing season, a cool and festive vibe occurs over the town, and the speedway’s grandstands get downright raucous with the sounds of squealing tires, loud engines, and screaming fans. Lots of visitors find it exciting, however, if you’re more into quiet time with a good book, then it’d be good to steer clear of the speedway during the races. For the most popular races, it’s a good idea to buy the tickets in advance on the speedway’s website.
