Here are some of the proactive measures we’ve implemented and will continue to implement:

  • All estimates are being provided over the phone, virtually, on-line or via email until further notice.
  • Pre-move wellness checks for both our customers and our crew members, where all will be asked to advise us if you feel ill or suspect exposure to the virus. For our movers it would be mandatory that they stay home, and for our customers, moving services can be rescheduled, postponed or cancelled to mitigate risk, should that be necessary.
  • Our crews are equipped with gloves, disinfectant sprays/wipes and hand sanitizer for your protection and theirs.
  • We have put into effect social distancing measures, and although we have always valued the professionalism and respect that comes along with a good introductory handshake and a departing thank you, we ask for your understanding that for the safety and well-being of everyone, there’ll be no handshake or touching of any kind.
  • Upon arrival, our crew will still introduce themselves, walk through the home with appropriate social distance, begin to protect the home with all safeguards like floor runners, and door jams (as they always do), but in addition we ask you now (with all due respect), to please give them the appropriate space they need to safely and efficiently service your move and allow them space to do their job.
  • When available and appropriate, open doorways and windows to increase air circulation and ventilation.
  • We are also taking measures to sanitize the cabs and boxes of our trucks, as well as all blankets, pads, tools and equipment after each and every move to reduce any risk of cross-contamination.
  • It is our hope and our expectation that you will take the same precautionary measures that we are taking, and that will also sanitize and wipe down any and all exposed surfaces and furniture prior to our arrival. Anything that you can do to help keep our working conditions safe and sanitary for our men, is equally appreciated.
  • Owners / office staff will be working around the clock from home with complete access for our team and our customers via phone, email and text.

Ways to burglar-proof your Miami home

Miami is one of the most known cities in the world. There are various reasons for that but the most important is that this is one of the most beautiful destinations that you can see – especially if you live in the USA. More people come to live in this city but there is one problem though – the crime rate can be enough to prevent you from actually relocating. Luckily, there are some ways on how to protect your household from them. Before you start hiring moving companies in Florida, be sure to check and learn how to burglar-proof your Miami home!

Is Miami safe for you to relocate?

Even though Miami is one of the most visited cities in the world, it has its flaws. One of them is that there is a high crime rate. On the crime index scale, Miami is 7. That means that it is safer just than 7% of US cities across the country. On the other hand, if we put these statistics on the side, the common thing that you learn when moving to a big city is that the crime rate will probably be higher than in smaller places. So, the statistics are not that important if you can be smart and protect yourself.

What are the best ways to burglar-proof your Miami home?

  • Lock doors and windows
  • Think about smart locks
  • Put alarms in your home
  • Put motion sensors
  • Install cameras

Lock doors and windows

One of the simplest ways to burglar-proof your Miami home is to lock everything. Of course, you do not have to do this all day long but when you are going to sleep or when going out. Even though it is good to have this habit, it may not be enough! If you are getting a new home, you do not know how strong the doors are. That is why you should check everything once you relocate to Miami. The best way to do this is to hire professionals that will inspect your home and tell you all about your weak places. Change them and get a new, safer lock on all the doors.

Think about smart locks

Smart locks are perfect if you want to protect your home in Miami. The good thing about them is that you do not have to use anything physical to get into your home, like the keys. Keys can get lost or you may have given them to someone and have not got them back. In order to save yourself from lots of headaches, just invest your money into smart locks. The bad thing about them is that they can get quite expensive depending on the version that you are looking for. You can get in the home with passwords, fingerprints, or via smartphone. The newest generations of these locks have a memory that saves information about the date and time of entries.

Put alarms in your home

Alarms are the must-have if you want to heave a piece of mind in your own home. The best way is to get a complete alarm system that will take place on every possible entry point to your house. Yes, they can get expensive but that is nothing comparing to the stress you will have if you found out that someone was at your home.

On the other hand, if you want to save some money, you can place your own alarms. You do not have to pay some company monthly fees. Just go into the nearest store and get several of them. They can be very cheap but still good for the purpose of burglar-proofing your Florida home. One of the downsides of building a garage with a living area is that it can be an entry point for burglars. You can easily prevent this from happening by putting alarms even there.

Put motion sensors

It is one thing to secure the interior of your home but totally another to protect the exterior. Of course, you can’t place barbed wire all-around your property but there are some things that you can do.  One of them is to put motion sensors. There may exist a lot of places around your home where burglars could hide. Do not let them find a place to hide by placing motion sensors on the strategic locations like the doorway, the back yard, etc. They are quite sophisticated and sensitive to motion nowadays. Even though you can’t prevent the burglars from continuing with their plan, you can scare them. Most of them will flee as soon as they see that the house has motion detectors.

Install cameras

This is also a good way to burglar-proof your Miami home. There are two places where you can install your cameras, outside and inside. Most people will be satisfied just by putting cameras outside since it is a place where the burglar will come from. On the other hand, if you want to go one step further, be sure to install them inside too. A reason for doing this is a bigger chance that you will get a good image of the burglars. That means that you can go to the police and take care of everything in no time. We understand that you would want to save money but this is not a good place to do this. It is better to invest in good equipment since you will get images and videos of better quality.

Summary

As you can see, there are a lot of ways to burglar-proof your Miami home. Even though Miami is one of the cities with the highest crime rate, that does not mean that you can’t protect your home from burglars. We understand that you may be a little skeptical but once potential burglar sees the light coming from motion sensors, you can be sure that he or she will flee. Book your long distance movers Florida on time and get to see why Miami is one of the most visited cities in the world. We can assure you that all the beaches will be enough to make you stay here for a long time!
